The first African Conference on Experimental Archaeology (ACE2018) will be held on the 20th-22nd of March 2018 at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Johannesburg, South Africa. The conference is organised by the Archaeology Division at Wits and EXARC, the International Organisation of Archaeological Open-Air Museums (AOAM) and Experimental Archaeology.  

Conference Topics Include:

Actualistic and laboratory experiments to understand and generate hypotheses on the archaeological record;

Experimental archaeology and public outreach;

Ethnoarchaeology and traditional skills;

Digital techniques and experimental archaeology.
